The Project Manager - position is a Phoenix (preferred), or San Francisco based position that it plays an important role with this rapid growing company. This is a very dynamic and fast-track position reporting to the Director of Finance and Operation. The position will be the key member of operation team. This position will also be the technical point of the contact person support commercial, industrial and utility-scale solar and battery plants.

Your Responsibilities

  • Reviewing Supply Agreements and extract obligations by Sungrow, the Customer, and any relevant party into a project achievable list.
  • Project manage these obligations by working with customer, Sungrow team members (Account Manager, Application Engineer, Product Management, Order Entry, Logistics, and relevant external parties) to ensure successful and timely execution of these obligations.
  •  Manage customer relationship, resolve issues, and negotiate resolutions to issues causing delays in delivery of products. 
  •  Keep sales and management abreast of project status via reports and conference call; get them involved in solving problems if necessary.
  •  Works collaboratively with internal and external resources in various disciplines to determine project priorities and work plan.
  • Meets objectives with limited project management, scheduling and estimating resources and coordinates plant commissioning resources to provide effective early-stage project development support
  • Ensures commissioning and retrofit projects are efficiently, effectively and safely implemented in accordance with department procedures and policies
  • Manages walk down of planned work, validates acceptance of completed work to design requirements, approves contractor payment requests. Verifies procedures, equipment and resource allocations to avoid conflicts and resolves issues as needed Leads project meetings with customer and internally during installation and commissioning (risk tracker and contingency allocations).
  • Oversees commissioning activities to meet corporate objectives, with limited project management, scheduling and estimating resources.
  • Determine site specific requirements including labor, local AHJ requirements, safety requirements, utility interconnection, and permit costs.
  • Work with Product Management, Sales Management and Application Engineers to generate all the field information required for skid integration in the field. Review drawings and set up execution plan with third parties and field service group. 
  • Manage customer communication on a routine basis to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and negotiate sub-contractor, consultant or engineering agreements including safety plans, schedules and scope-of-work necessary to fulfill project requirements.
  • Manage all aspects of the project schedule from project kickoff to project close-out pending items including project post-mortem meeting. 
  • Monitor processes, materials, safety, job quality, to detect or assess problems
  •  Coordinate inspections and interconnections with the customer.
  • Ensure projects are completed within scheduled timeframes and budget. Provide final cost for the project.
  • Coordinate project commissioning and handoff to systems support and/or O&M team.
  • Coordinate customer training and acceptance.
  • Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alterative, and provide recommendations

  • Support escalation activities that require high level of details or a fast response to the customer such us retrofit projects, site upgrades, etc.
  • Promote projects to improve improvements in the service organization to provide higher level of customer service.

Education or Desired License and Certificates:

  • Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience
  • Solar industry experiences is required
